 Solent 1 beat Shorwell to claim this year’s end of season tournament, at Seaclose, on Sunday (April 19). Solent came from behind to beat the south region team 8-4 in a thrilling 12-minute finale. Having lost the first period 4-1, Solent fought back, with some stunning shots from Katia Siska and excellent movement from Kelly Ross. Their sensational second half display stopped Shorwell scoring again, crowning Solent 1 champions for 2009. Solent 2 also managed a runners-up spot in the plate competition.
